Good and bad in poker
What is “good”, and what is “bad” in poker.
“Goods” and “bads” described here have been chosen from thousands of possible examples from the poker play. The next advice can be rather useful, but do not forget, that except the ones mentioned here, there are also other advice, which are not less important in the game. In other words, it is not necessary to take the examples considered here for the key rules, after all these are simply some advice from the whole set.
“Bad” in the relation to the game is:
To begin game, hoping that you will improbably win, and you will take away all money of your opponents.
“Good” in the relation to the game is:
To begin the game, understanding, that your opponents already hold your money in hands, but they will need a lot of luck to keep this money. If you are a skilled player you should begin game, expecting a victory. All counters and all money hidden in pockets and purses are yours. You want them. You deserve them. And in general, it is a crime against the nature, that these people hold your money in the hands. This all yours, and you intend to play so well, to prove the right of possession this money.
“Bad” concerning the game image is:
To assure themselves that opponents respect you as the player, they know about your unsurpassed analytical mentality, mind of the present winner, and your strategy, they should be afraid.
“Good” concerning the game image:
To assure opponents of that you do not avoid errors, and in general you are rather changeable. One thing I know precisely: people much more likely will put more, knowing about your inexperience, rather than if they think of you with horror, as about any vigorous defraud of their money. The main task in work on your image of the player is to force the opponents to think, that you lead the game much worse, than it is actually. I cannot do it constantly, after all too many players know me and my game. Therefore sometimes I use other, opposite approach, good-natured arguing aloud about their possible cards and actions. Making it, I will play some distributions worse than ever. It is so-called compromise strategy. The created deceptive image works (if it is created correctly), and something turns out like the player with an improbable stock of knowledge, but with huge unwillingness to use it.
And if to have the possibility to enter the game unfamiliar to anybody I would try to operate so ignorantly, how much I only could. And never try to make impression upon opponents by your knowledge. In poker your hand is your secret. One of the worst things in game which you can admit, this imprudent splurge of your cards. And other worst thing which you can make, I consider imprudent splurge of your skill.
“Bad” in the relation to bankroll:
To spend the money so that, even when you have wasted your limits, you still would have what to “demonstrate”.
“Good” in the relation to bankroll:
To refuse to spend your growing bankroll for your children, the wife, a payment for habitation, health, on your dog. The very first, that you should understand, it that the given advice is turned to the skilled players capable to a victory in long-term prospect and, probably, not having sufficient bankroll yet.
Actually, growing bankroll is similar to growing business. You bankroll is your tool with which you can operate your business. You want to joke with it – all jokes with it are bad. Want to squander all - well, then it should be so. But do not say then, that I did not warn.
